Another Day

We woke up again this morning to a quiet neighborhood and empty streets.  It's the weekend here so most everyone sleeps in until it's time for mosque.  There is to be another march throughout the country today.  The media offers a variety of perspectives, but some stories don't make the mainstream.

A report included the following regarding the burning of churches throughout the country:  It is also important and encouraging to note that some Muslims went to protect churches and that, in return, many Christians then sent messages to their fellow Muslim citizens saying, “buildings can be rebuilt again, but you are priceless, so stay safe, and don't worry about the churches”.

The report included photos that tell a different story, a story that declares love towards those who persecute you.

Thank you for your concern.  Being here we can feel at times like the proverbial "raisin in the rice puddin'," but your comments and kindness are deeply appreciated.  Philippians 4:6-7 says:  Don't fret or worry.  Instead of worrying, pray.  Let petitions and praises shape your worries into prayers, letting God know your concerns. Before you know it, a sense of God's wholeness, everything coming together for good will come and settle you down.  It's wonderful what happens when Christ displaces worry at the center of your life.
Which leads me to our second point of gratitude.  Thank you for praying.  You are joining others who know and declare that nothing escapes Jesus' care and attention even when all seems out of control.
Thank you for your friendship.  Some of you have walked alongside us for many years and others have just joined.  We value your wisdom, laughter and insight as we tread this adventurous life regardless of which side of the pond you live on.  We think of you often and pray for you much.
That's it for today.  Reporting live from Egypt.  I'm Pam in the Sand.  __________________________________

  1. Praying for you, Pam! I still remember the days back in the "first" JRA with the green roof. The Bible studies you led were inspiring and so fun. Your spirit of joy is so contagious!
May His protection continue to rest upon you ~Karen
